Design Engineer – Mechanical

Role & responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical parts, enclosures, and assemblies for switchgear products.
• Generate detailed 2D drawings, and BOMs using design tools (AutoCAD).
• Collaborate with electrical and production engineers to ensure smooth integration of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Support prototype development, testing, and validation of new designs.
• Review and modify designs to address cost reduction, performance improvement, or standardization needs.
• Coordinate with vendors for component development and ensure manufacturability of designs.

Preferred candidate profile

Education: B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering.

1. Experience: 0 2 years in mechanical design for switchgear, control panels, or similar electrical equipment.
2. Hands-on experience in 3D modeling and drafting software AutoCAD.
3. Familiarity with switchgear assembly, LV/MV systems, and electrical insulation clearances preferred.
4. Exposure to manufacturing processes, cost optimization, and engineering change management.
